Today’s Supreme court ruling begs closer scrutiny than the actual ruling itself. In the dissenting opinion, Justice Scalia seems to be giving Americans a dire warning. His comments about “words do matter” and suggesting that this court’s main consideration was that Obamacare must survive is strongly suggesting that the court’s decision was a political one rather than an objective reading of the law. If this is the case, we find little confidence in knowing that the wording of any law of this land, including our constitution, may and can be, subverted to a political agenda.  Accordingly, one must begin questioning our individual rights as granted by our constitution. Judge Scalia’s opinion, as written, is indeed a “big deal”.
