Victor A. Canto, Ph.D.

Victor serves as the lead portfolio manager at Cadinha Global Portfolio Strategies. Prior to joining Cadinha, Victor founded La Jolla Economics Inc., an economics consulting firm. From 2004 to 2016 he was an adviser to the Lazard Capital Allocator Series. From 1993 to 1998, he was Chief Investment Officer, Director of Research and portfolio manager at Calport Asset Management. From 1989 to 1997 he was President and Director of Research at A. B. Laffer, V. A. Canto and Associates. Victor has been an adviser to governments and a tenured finance and economics professor at the University of Southern California.
Victor is author of a number of books, including Understanding Asset Allocation and Cocktail Economics, two books illustrating the foundation of the Cadinha GPS approach. His papers and articles have been published by numerous economic journals and business publications. He earned a M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago and B.Sc. in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Harlan J. Cadinha
Chairman and Chief Strategist
A graduate of the University of Hawaii, Harlan entered the investment profession in 1969. As the firm’s Chief Investment Strategist, he is responsible for prescribing asset allocation and strategy shifts that take advantage of changes in the economic or investment climate. Prior to founding Cadinha & Company, Harlan was Chairman of the Board of Jurika, Cadinha & Voyles, Inc., Investment Counsel. Earlier, he established an enviable 11-year record with a large New York Stock Exchange firm.
Harlan was born in Lahaina, Maui as the only son of teacher parents who were born and raised on the Big Island. He has been married to Kaleialoha (Kenney) Cadinha for over 50 years. They have two children and six grandchildren.
Neil Rose, CFA
President & Chief Investment Officer
Neil joined Cadinha & Company in 2002 as a portfolio manager and analyst. Today, as the firm’s Chief Investment Officer, he develops strategy and selects specific investments. Neil is a cum laude graduate of Harvard University with a B.A. in economics where he was also quarterback and captain of the Harvard football team. Neil holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, an international professional designation awarded to those who meet stringent professional and ethical standards and have passed a rigorous curriculum with exams.
Neil is married and has three children. He devours books on all kinds of topics and loves traveling and learning new things.
